Plastic Surgery Boom!
Number of people receiving some sort of plastic surgery is on the rise and that number isn’t going to slow down anytime soon.
Plastic surgery is not a new concept, rather a longstanding procedure many individuals get to enhance or help with a health condition, however many factors have helped boost its popularity in the modern era. Many people ask, “How can I accept my body but still want a s procedure done?” Well according to experts, it’s now become much easier today, whether it be financially, emotionally or even physically.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) last year, in the US alone, there were around 300,000 more cosmetic surgeries executed in comparison to 2017.
With the growth in Social media and its presence in today’s world, many people are discussing the treatments, posting photos, writing blogs or even making a YouTube video documenting their journey. Simply because people are willing to take pride in and acknowledge their health care routines and even those that require cosmetic procedures.
A while ago, plastic surgery used to only be for the super-rich, those who could travel around and meet the very few plastic surgeons they had back then. However, most people these days with a normal income, are able to travel for cheap and get the best treatments done with the countless number of doctors in this profession and it would cost them nothing compared to what it would cost 10 years ago. On top of that, these days you can receive many loans for these treatments.
Technical procedures used during cosmetic surgeries have become much safer and a lot more reliable. Newer technology such as lasers are a part of many treatments now.
Performing certain types of cosmetic procedures can definitely benefit your health. For example, studies have shown that Botox, helps with conditions like excessive sweating, chronic migraines and even Bell’s palsy. Females who go through a breast reduction surgery for instance usually do it to help relieve themselves from back or disc problems. Plastic surgery also allows patients who have lost a lot of weight to remove the extra skin that remains, to prevent major rashes and infections.
So, Don’t underestimate this increase! Many people want to get some surgery done, and its just going to get more common.
